So you’re in a dog friendly apartment above a dog friendly beach in a dog friendly town do you want to eat your fish and chips out of paper on a bench on Killacourt? If you do that’s a great choice and one that we have made ourselves but it’s not your only option. If you fancy something a little more sophisticated then may we suggest you ring Aaron Janes and book a table for you and your dog at this excellent restaurant?

Aaron`s philosophy is keep it simple but elegant and when working with the great fish that we have in Newquay this means you are in for something a little special. Try Spider Crab Claws,and Gremolata Butter to start or make a meal of Roast Pollock, Shellfish Mash, Piperade, Mussel and Chorizo Flamand. Not quite full ? Orange Brioche Pudding and Clotted Cream

Have you had a kangaroo sausage for breakfast or a jackfruit burger for lunch? How about starting your evening meal with wild boar and chorizo Scotch egg? Too adventurous? Not a problem the menus also include Cornish breakfast, fish and chips and rump steak. If you have room then have a look at the homemade desserts menu a day in the sea tomorrow will soon burn it off.

The Fish House Fistral
Look you’re at the sea side; fish restaurants are going to be high on the agenda. With so much great fish readily available Newquay is bound to attract some top, fish specialist, chefs. Paul Harwood is a case in point. 25 years in Cornwall has made him a keen surfer 14 years working with Rick Stein in Padstow has made him a great fish specialist chef. Call in at lunch time for an open fish finger sandwich or Cornish crab with homemade mayonnaise. Dog friendly at lunch time and with great views of the famous Fistral beach, it’s definitely a treat that you should try.
In the evening try Balinese skewered monkfish or an Indian fish curry. You could go for a rib eye steak but with all this super fresh fish I personally would think it a lost opportunity.

The husband and wife team at Kahuna have been in the restaurant business for eleven years and consistently deliver high quality Pan Asian food. Inspired by their travels throughout the world Ryan and Kelly have developed their own style of Asian menu. If you enjoyed a meal last year and are hoping to order the same again then there could be a problem as the menu changes frequently to ensure it is the best available option.
Kahuna don’t have “the vegetarian option” they have a range of great food much of which comes as a vegetarian or vegan option.
