The Roasting Room Cafe’s flagship store was the first one they opened, offering a wide range of delicious speciality coffees from around the world, expertly roasted in Newquay. Always ask about the coffee you’re drinking, so you can enjoy it at home too. Don’t wait until the next day, as the menu selection may change.
But coffee isn’t the only product they offer. They also have a wide range of hot and cold drinks. When given the chance to try exceptional coffee, why not take it? While coffee is their speciality, most people enjoy a cake or pastry with their brew. While coffee roasters may not be great bakers, you still want a great cake with your coffee. The solution is to get a great baker to supply cakes and pastries. Enter Gorse Bakers, another Newquay-based specialist, who provide fantastic sweet treats to complement your drink.

Paulines Creamery and Cafe
Pauline’s homemade cakes and baguettes are our favourite options here, and we’re thrilled to announce that they are now sustainable palm oil champions. Sprout
To find Sprout, simply go out of the back gate and turn left. You won’t miss it. This vegetarian and vegan health food shop, coffee shop, and micro cafe is one of the healthiest cafes in Newquay.
Go inside and see for yourself. There’s usually a lot going on, from workshops on making vegan cheese, Kombucha, Christmas wreaths, Kefir, natural skincare creams, and immune-boosting syrups to acoustic gigs, yoga classes, poetry readings, foraging walks, and independent cinema screenings.
You don’t have to be a vegan to enjoy this place, but it may prompt you to question your eating habits.
Be sure to try their daily hot dish either at the communal table or in the covered courtyard (take a look at that canopy!) or as a takeaway. And don’t miss out on their bread and cakes. Fair warning: after trying their Bordelais Sourdough, you may find it hard to go back to supermarket bread.

Andy`s Cafe
Andy’s Cafe is one of our favourite breakfast stops. It’s not fancy, but the food is plentiful and delicious. If you’re visiting the UK from abroad, you must try a full English breakfast, and Andy’s Cafe is the perfect place to do so. Just as France has wine, Italy has pasta dishes, and Berlin has currywurst, a full English is a must-try breakfast in the UK. It’s a bit heavier than the usual continental breakfast, but it’s a great way to start your day with sausage, bacon, eggs, baked beans, fried bread, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding, toast, and a pot of tea.
While American-style breakfasts are also available here and are very tasty, we think it’s hard to beat a full English.
Ask about the Beach Box for hot or cold takeaway options that are perfect for the beach.
This establishment comes highly recommended by Mr Pringle, our four-legged friend. He loves the free sausage that’s usually on offer; he always feels welcome here.

Newquay Rowing Club Cafe
At some point during your holiday, you will end up at the harbour – everybody does! Try to visit during breakfast time and indulge in one of the best breakfast cafes in town, The Newquay Rowing Club Cafe. Here, you can feast on a traditional locally-sourced Cornish breakfast or try something more modern. Although the rowing club has “All Welcome” signs, it’s not conspicuous from the harbour, so go hunt it down – you will not be disappointed. It’s not just the food that’s great, as the view over breakfast will stay with you for a long time.
Gareth and Lou will make you feel welcome any time, even if you miss breakfast. Try a cream tea or book their famous Sunday roast dinner. Don’t forget to bring your dog, as there are treats to keep your best friend happy.
Short on time? No problem – grab your food to go! Everything is available as a takeaway, but watch out for hungry seagulls if you’re eating in the harbour.

Cafe Cloud
Cafe Cloud is a delightful cafe with a vintage twist located just up from Newquay Harbour. The cosy ambience of the cafe will immediately transport you to a different era. The menu is impressive with a wide variety of gluten-free options available for customers with dietary restrictions.
The all-day breakfast and lunch menus are definitely worth trying out. The dishes are prepared fresh and are full of flavour. The cream teas and afternoon teas are a must-try, perfect for a lazy afternoon catch-up with friends or family. The homemade waffles are fluffy and delicious and go perfectly with freshly brewed coffee.
The highlight of Cafe Cloud’s menu is its homemade cakes and scones. These are made with the freshest ingredients and are so delectable that you’ll be tempted to take some back to the apartment for later. The scones are light and buttery, and they pair perfectly with strawberry jam and clotted cream.
The service at Cafe Cloud is excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you step in. The cafe is also very reasonably priced, making it accessible to everyone.
Overall, Cafe Cloud is a charming cafe that offers delicious food and excellent service. With vintage charm and gluten-free options, it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely brunch or afternoon tea.

Lakeside
Lakeside is another of our favourite cafes. This is where we stop for coffee and cake before walking down to Crantock via the Gannel. It overlooks the beautiful boating lake at Trenance Gardens, where you can indulge in the great British pastime of feeding the ducks after lunch or cakes. They even sell bags of healthy food for them!
Lakeside is dog-friendly during the day, with doggy treats and homemade dog ice cream available, so no member of the family is left out. With its reputation for excellent food, it’s best to book at busy times, especially at nighttime.
During the summer, there’s outside seating and an ice cream parlour. In the winter, you can enjoy a log fire. If you have a special occasion, let them know, and they will decorate your table for you.
At nighttime, Lakeside transforms into an excellent restaurant. Watch out for special evenings, including steak, pie, and fish and chips nights.

Cargo Coffee
Lots of cafes say they are “on the beach” when what they mean is they are very close to the beach. When Cargo Coffee says they are on the beach, they mean it. Situated on Crantock Beach, just a short walk from the National Trust car park, it’s great for organic coffee, homemade cakes, ice cream, and sandwiches.
Crantock Beach is a great day out anyway, but with Cargo Coffee here, you can stay all day without all the fuss of making a picnic.
Mr Pringle also insists we mention that they have dog treats as well.
Definitely, one that you have to try out. Don’t forget the camera because this is a great photo opportunity.

Sea Spray Fistral
Run by Katie and Lee with lots of help from Bruce, this cafe is the perfect spot to kick-start your day. Treat yourself to the Sea Spray breakfast while enjoying stunning views of South Fistral, and it’s hard to imagine a better start to the day.
They offer a variety of homemade, locally sourced dishes throughout the day in a breathtaking setting. If you prefer not to leave the beach, the cafe has a convenient takeaway option from their downstairs hatch.
One of the little extras of this eco-friendly cafe is that you can enjoy a bottle of Sea Change wine with your meal, knowing that it supports ocean conservation projects. It’s guilt-free wine, which makes it even better.
